Your first Saturn return begins when transiting Saturn re-enters the zodiac sign it occupied at your birth, roughly 29.4 years later. So the table is simple to use. Find the row containing your birth date in the middle column. The right-hand column shows when Saturn revisits that sign, which is your first return window. Some rows carry two or even three date ranges. That is not a typo. It is Saturn retrograding back and forth across a sign boundary, and I have deliberately left every split in, because those splits are exactly where the generic "your sign's years" articles get people wrong.

When is my Saturn return, then?

Short answer: your return window is the right-hand range in your row, and the exact event lands when Saturn reaches the precise degree it held at your birth, typically between ages 28.5 and 30. Not 29.5 on the dot, whatever the influencers say. As I write this in July 2026, Saturn sits around 14 degrees of Aries. From now until April 2028, this is the Aries cohort's moment. Here is the near-term picture year by year, since "saturn return dates 2025" and "saturn return 2026" are the questions filling my inbox lately.

Saturn return dates 2025: the Pisces handover

Most of 2025 belonged to the Pisces-born. Their window opened March 8, 2023, ran to May 26, 2025, then reopened from September 2, 2025 to February 15, 2026 while Saturn retreated for one last sweep. If you were born between January 29, 1994 and April 8, 1996, or in that short May 22 to June 30, 1993 sliver, that was your return. Meanwhile the Aries-born got a preview: Saturn's brief May 26 to September 2, 2025 visit gave people born in 1996 through early 1999 an early taste before the main event.

Saturn return 2026 to 2028: the Aries years

Saturn occupies Aries from February 15, 2026 to April 14, 2028. First returns belong to anyone born April 8, 1996 to June 10, 1998, or October 26, 1998 to March 2, 1999. A client born in May 1997 asked me last month whether she had somehow missed hers because a listicle told her it "peaked in 2025." She had not. Her exact conjunction falls inside the 2026 to 2028 window; 2025 was the overture. Why the sign windows split in two

Saturn retrogrades for about four and a half months every year. When that backward loop happens to straddle a sign boundary, the planet crosses the same line three times, in, out, in again, and the sign stay splits. Look at the Aries row for proof. Saturn first entered Aries on April 8, 1996, dipped into Taurus in June 1998, then backed into Aries from October 26, 1998 to March 2, 1999 before leaving for good. Any article that hands you one clean unbroken range for a boundary-era birth is quietly wrong at the edges, and the edges are precisely where people misdate their returns.

Saturn return dates for Pisces

The Pisces return ran March 8, 2023 to May 26, 2025, plus the closing stretch of September 2, 2025 to February 15, 2026. It applies to births from May 22 to June 30, 1993 and January 29, 1994 to April 8, 1996. If that is you, the sign-level event is now finished. Whether your personal return is finished depends on your natal degree; late-Pisces degrees got their final exact pass close to the very end of the window, so some of you are barely months past it.

Saturn return Aquarius dates

Aquarius returns came in two blocks: March 23 to July 2, 2020, and December 18, 2020 to March 8, 2023. They belonged to births from February 7, 1991 to May 22, 1993 and June 30, 1993 to January 29, 1994. In my practice these were the pandemic returns, an entire cohort renegotiating work and friendship under lockdown while Saturn crossed their natal degree. Several of them assumed the global chaos was their return. It was both, honestly.

Saturn return dates explained: window versus conjunction

Here is the distinction this whole page turns on. The sign window is a convenience for looking things up. The return itself is an exact conjunction: transiting Saturn at the same degree, and arcminute, as your natal Saturn. Depending on where your degree sits relative to Saturn's station points, it gets hit once, or three times in a direct-retrograde-direct sequence spread over months. Both patterns are common. My sampled births show the variety: January 1, 1960 returned at 29.1 with three passes, January 1, 1980 at 29.8 with a single pass, January 1, 1995 at 29.1 with one pass, January 1, 2000 at 28.6 with three. One assumption worth killing while we are here: you do not need your birth time for this. Saturn crawls at 0.03 to 0.12 degrees per day, so twelve hours of birth-time uncertainty moves your natal Saturn by one to three arcminutes. Nothing. Save the birth-time hunt for your rising sign and houses, where it genuinely matters.

Finding your saturn return dates by year of birth

A birth year alone is usually enough, but not always, and 1988 is my favorite cautionary tale. Saturn sat in Capricorn from February 15 to June 10, 1988, retreated into Sagittarius until November 13, then returned to Capricorn. I once had two clients born that year, one in April, one in August, who assumed they shared saturn return dates by year. They did not. The April birth returned with the Capricorn wave of December 2017 to December 2020; the August birth had already been through it with Sagittarius by late 2017. So read the full date ranges, not just the year.
