Saturn return dates 2025: the Pisces handover

Most of 2025 belonged to the Pisces-born. Their window opened March 7, 2023, ran to May 25, 2025, then reopened from September 1, 2025 to February 14, 2026 while Saturn retreated for one last sweep. Why the sign windows split in two

Saturn retrogrades for about four and a half months every year. When that backward loop happens to straddle a sign boundary, the planet crosses the same line three times, in, out, in again, and the sign stay splits. Look at the Aries row for proof. Saturn return dates explained: window versus conjunction

Here is the distinction this whole page turns on. The sign window is a convenience for looking things up. The return itself is an exact conjunction: transiting Saturn at the same degree, and arcminute, as your natal Saturn. Depending on where your degree sits relative to Saturn's station points, it gets hit once, or three times in a direct-retrograde-direct sequence spread over months. Both patterns are common. My sampled births show the variety: January 1, 1960 returned at 29.1 with three passes, January 1, 1980 at 29.8 with a single pass, January 1, 1995 at 29.1 with one pass, January 1, 2000 at 28.6 with three. One assumption worth killing while we are here: you do not need your birth time for this. Saturn crawls at 0.03 to 0.12 degrees per day, so twelve hours of birth-time uncertainty moves your natal Saturn by one to three arcminutes. Nothing. A birth year alone is usually enough, but not always, and 1988 is my favorite cautionary tale. Saturn sat in Capricorn from February 13 to June 10, 1988, retreated into Sagittarius until November 12, then returned to Capricorn.
